In a parallelogram, opposite sides MUST be equal.

And in parallelogram ABCD, AD and BC are indeed opposite sides.

So just set them equal to each other and solve for x:

6x-2=2x%2B22

4x-2=22

4x=24

x=6

Thus, the value of x is 6.

We also now know that the length of both AD and BC is 34.
