|x + 2|=-2
x+2=-2;x+2=-(-2)
x+2-2=-2-2;x+2=2
x=-4;x+2-2=2-2

hence x=-4,0
b)−3|2x + 6| = −12
dividing -3 on both sides
|2x + 6|=4
2x+6=4;2x+6=-4
2x+6-6=4-6;2x+6-6=-4-6
2x=-2;2x=-10
x=-1;x=-5
