You can put this solution on YOUR website!
AT LEAST YOU ARE GIVING IT A SHOT!!!!!!
BUT SEE WHAT YOU THINK ABOUT THIS APPROACH:
Let x= number of nickels
Then 50-x=number of dimes
NOW LETS START DEALING IN PENNIES TO KEEP DOWN CONFUSION:
Now we are told that the amount of money in nickels (5x) plus the amount of money in dimes (10(50-x)) equals 350 (pennies). So our equation to solve is:
5x+10(50-x)=350 get rid of parens
5x+500-10x=350 subtract 500 from both sides
-5x=-500+350
-5x=-150
x=30-------------------------number of nickels
50-x=50-30=20----------------------number of dimes
Ck
30(5)+20(10)=350
150+200=350
350=350
