Let x= the number of days that it takes to paint a house. Then 1%2Fx would tell us how much of the house would be painted in one day.

Tyrin can paint a house in 4 days so in one day, he can paint 1%2F4 of a house
Tahjai can paint a house in 5 days, so in one day, he can paint 1%2F5 of a house
1%2F4 + 1%2F5 = 1%2Fx This would tell us how much of the house they both would have finished painting in one day.
Multiply everything by 20x:
20x%281%2F4%29 + 20x%281%2F5%29= 20x%281%2Fx%29
5x+4x=20
9x=20
x=2 2%2F9 days

So it would take them 2 2%2F9 days which is 2.22 days
