Question 696004: Jessica made anut mixture that contains 72% peanuts by mixing 14kg of mixed nuts with 11 kg of peanuts. The mixed nuts contained what percent peanuts?

I somewhat understand the problem, but I don't know how to set up a plausible equation.
Please help! Answer by solver91311(24713) (Show Source):
There are 25 kg of nuts total (14 + 11). Since the mixture contains 72% peanuts, then there must be 0.72 times 25 = 18 kg of peanuts. 11 kg of those 18 kg come from the 11 kg of peanuts, so 7 kg (18 minus 11) of the peanuts came from the 14 kg of mixed nuts. 7 is 50% of 14.
