SOLUTION: If y varies dirctly as x, and x = 9 when y = 15, find y when x = 33. I think the formula is Y=KX. This is the way I did it.
Y=KX
15=K(9)
15/9=K (divided both sides

Question 695157: If y varies dirctly as x, and x = 9 when y = 15, find y when x = 33. I think the formula is Y=KX. This is the way I did it.
Y=KX
15=K(9)
15/9=K (divided both sides by 9)
1.667= K
Y=KX
Y=1.667 times 33
y=55.003

You can put this solution on YOUR website! Very good. You did everything correctly.
The only thing I would recommend is that you keep instead of decimal number.
When multiplying with , you get .
The slight difference between your answer 55.003 and my answer 55 comes from rounding up the fraction to 1.667. Keeping everything as fractions, always gives you the correct answers, where decimals might be a little bit off.
