add -4 to both sides
reverse foil
(2x+1)(3x-4)=0 set each of the values inside the ()'s equal to 0 and solve
2x+1=0
2x=-1
x=-1/2
and
3x-4=0
3x=4
x=4/3
you end up with two values for x
{-1/2, 4/3}
