Add 8 both sides like this:
 x - 8 + 8 > 6 + 8

Simplify add the constant -8 + 8 (left side) and 6 + 8 (right side)

x > 14

So the values of x is greater than 14, it might be 15, 16, 17, 18 and so forth.
