1+-+6d+%3C+d+%2B+8 Subtract d and also 1 from both sides:
1-1+-+6d-d+%3C+d-d+%2B+8-1 collect like terms:
-7d%3C7 divide both sides by -7. DON'T FORGET TO REVERSE THE DIRECTION OF THE INEQUALITY SIGN
