If the line is completely vertical then it is impossible to find the slope. The rise could be anything, maybe 3, but the run is zero. Since the slope is rise over run the slope cannot be computed. Go ahead try to find out what 3/0 is, the calculator will tell you its undefined. The reason simply being that there is no value that can multiply by 0 to get to 3.
