Use the slope formula to calculate the slope of the diagonals., EG and FH. . If the two slopes are negative reciprocals, then the figure is either a rhombus or a square. If not, then since rectangle is the only other choice, it must be a rectangle.

If it is a rhombus or a square, use the distance formula:



to find the measure of each of the diagonals. If they are equal, you have a square (and a rectangle actually -- ALL squares are rectangles), but if they are different it is a rhombus.
