You can put this solution on YOUR website!

What is asked in the problem?
At what time will the cars be 330 miles apart?
Given:
at 10 am a car leaves a house at a rate of 60mph
at the same time, another car leace the same house at a rate of 50mph
opposite direction
Representation:
Let x = time the car be 330miles apart.
Make a table from the information given:
r times t = d
first car 60mph x = 60x
second car 50 mph x = 50x
Distance of the 1st car + distance of the 2nd car = 330
60 x + 50x = 330
110x = 330
x = 3
therefore, after 3 hours the two cars are 330 miles apart.
