Question 68825: Help, I am stuck. Beginning Algebra Chapter 8 Section 8.1. Solve each of the following systems by graphing.
3 x - 6 y = 9
x - 2 y = 3

The answer I keep getting is 0 = 0
3 x - 6 y = 9
3 ( 2 y + 3) - 6 y = 9
6 y + 9 - 6 y = 9
0 = 0

You can put this solution on YOUR website!
3x-6y=9
-6y=-3x-9
6y=3x+9
--------------------------------------
x-2y=3
-2y=-x+3

When you get 0 = 0, this means that the two equations represent the SAME LINE!! I'm afraid the other solution that was posted on algebra.com was WRONG!!
