You can put this solution on YOUR website!
The legs of an isosceles triangle have lengths 2x+4 and x+8. The base has length 5x-2. What is the length of the base?
----
The legs have equal length so solve for "x".
2x+4 = x+8
x = 4
----
Then base = 5x-2 = 5*4-2 = 18
