You can put this solution on YOUR website!
The general form of the equation is
+y+=+m%2Ax+%2B+b+ where +m+ is the slope
given:
The line passes through (-4,-5)
The format is (x,y), so plug the point into the equation
+-5+=+m%2A%28-4%29+%2B+b+
Note that +b+ is the y-intercept, but if the slope is not
defined, then the y-intercept can be anywhere on y-axis
+-5+=+-4m+%2B+b+
+b+=+4m+-+5+
--------------
The general equation is:
+y+=+m%2Ax+%2B+4m+-+5+
+y+=+m%2A%28+x+%2B+4+%29+-+5+
check:
Does the line pass through (-4,-5 ) ?
+-5+=+m%2A%28+-4+%2B+4+%29+-+5+
+-5+=+m%2A0+-+5+
+-5+=+-5+
OK
