You can put this solution on YOUR website!
+4%2Fx+-+1+%2B+3%2Fx+=+3+
The rule is: Whatever you do that changes the left side
of the equals sign, you must also do on the right side.
First, add +1+ to both sides
+4%2Fx+%2B+3%2Fx+=+3+%2B+1+
Do the addition on the right
+4%2Fx+%2B+3%2Fx+=+4+
Now multiply both sides by +x+
+x%2A%284%2Fx%29+%2B+x%2A%283%2Fx%29+=+4x+
Now notice that you can rewrite the left side as:
+%28x%2Fx%29%2A4+%2B+%28x%2Fx%29%2A3+=+4x+
Notice +x%2Fx+=+1+, so rewrite the left side.
+4+%2B+3+=+4x+
+7+=+4x+
Now divide both sides by +4+
+7%2F4+=+%284%2F4%29%2Ax+
+7%2F4+=+x+ answer
