y = -x/4 + 15

39 = -x/4 + 15 --> subtract 15 from both sides
24 = -x/4 --> multiply both sides by 4
-x = 96 --> multiply both sides by -1
x = -96

the final 2 steps could be done in one...multiply by -4, but i split it into 2 for sake of ease.
