Then twelve less than 2 times the number is: 2x-12
equal is: =
15 minus 7 times the number is: 15-7x
The equation to solve is:
2x-12=15-7x
2x+7x-12=15-7x+7x
9x-12=15
9x-12+12=15+12
9x=27
9x/9=27/9
x=3
The number is 3.
