Question 683782: Hello there,my question is, how do I find all integers k so that the trinomial can be factored? The problem is: 2m squared minus km minus 11. My online course does not, to my knowledge, have the "formula" to find all possible integer solutions for a trinomial. If You will please walk me through this process, I would appreciate Your help very much! Thank You!Also, Happy Thanksgiving!

You can put this solution on YOUR website!
2m squared minus km minus 11.
2m%5E2-km-11

Use the formula method to find the values of x
compare with the equation am%5E2%2Bbm%2Bc
a=2, b=-k, c=-11
b%5E2-4ac=+k%5E2-%284%29%282%29%28-11%29
=k^2+88
x=%28-b%2B-sqrt%28b%5E2-4ac%29%29%2F%282a%29

x=%28k%2B-sqrt%28k%5E2%2B88%29%29%2F4
x=%28k%2F4%29+%2B-sqrt%28%28k%5E2%2F16%29%2B%2811%2F2%29%29%29
