Question 680578: hi im doing my math homework. Im stuck on this problem. Three paintings, each measuring 1 nd 3/4 meters wide, are hung in the display space. What is the total area of the three paintings? I got 12.6(area) not so sure if its correct?? Tahnk you very much for your time and effort!

You give the paintings as 1.75 meters wide, no mention of the their length.
How can we know the areas of the individual paintings without that?

Using your answer, the individual areas would be 12.6/3 = 4.2 sq/m each

Then assuming the width as 1.75 meters, the length would be 4.2/1.75 = 2.4 meters
