You can put this solution on YOUR website!
I'm not sure what your question is, but I'm assuming you need to solve for "x." In order to do that, we need to isolate "x" to one side of the equation. To isolate "x," we need to divide both sides by two because (with the order of operations) multiplication comes before addition. In order to get rid of the two, we need to do the opposite of multiply, and divide.

+2%28x%2B1%29+%2F2+=4%2F2+

Now we are left with x+1=2. We need to do the opposite of add one (which is subtract one), to both sides.

x+1-1=2-1

Simplify.
x = 1

Let's check our work!

2(1+1)=4
2(2)=4
4=4
It's correct!
