Question 679938: My daughter is in the 6th grade and has a math problem dealing with reciprocals that states: (a) How many 2/5s are in 1? (b) Use the answer to part (a) to find the number of 2/5s in 2.
The answer to (a) is 5/2. 5/2 x 2/5 = 1.
I am at my wits end to figure out what to do next? (b) 5/2 x ? = 2
Please help.

You can put this solution on YOUR website!
1%2F%282%2F5%29 is the same as %281%29%285%2F2%29+=+5%2F2
...
There are 5%2F2 of 2%2F5 in 1
...
If 5%2F2 are in 1, then %285%2F2%29%2B%285%2F2%29 are in 2, which is the same as 2%285%2F2%29.
So, %285%2Fcross%282%29%29%28cross%282%29%29+=+highlight_green%285%29
