You can put this solution on YOUR website!
Given:
(1) 2x/3 - x/6 = 10
To get rid of the fractions (which we hate) multiply every term of (1) by 6 to get
(2) 4x - x = 60 or
combining like terms we get
(3) 3x = 60
Now divide each side by 3 and get
(4) x = 20
Now check this value in the original equation (1)
Is (2*20/3 - 20/6 = 10)?
Is (40/3 - 10/3 = 10)?
Is ((40-10)/3 = 10)?
Is (30/3 = 10)?
Is (10 = 10)? Yes
Answer: The solution to the given equation is x equals 20.
