You can put this solution on YOUR website!
the lengths of the sides of a rectangular window have the ratio 1.1 to 1.
The area of the window is 1126.4 square inches. What are the dimensions of the window?
:
Let x = the multiplier
then
1x = width
and
1.1x = the length
:
The area
x*1.1x = 1126.4
1.1x^2 = 1126.4
divide both sides by 1.1
x^2 = 1126.4/1.1
find the square root
x = sqrt%281024%29
x = 32 inches is width
then
1.1(32) = 35.2 inches is the length
:
:
Check 35.2 * 32 = 1126.4
