Question 677312: f(y)= y+7 / y^2-7y
what's the domain?
Answer by jim_thompson5910(35256) (Show Source):
You can put this solution on YOUR website! You can't divide by zero.
So y^2 - 7y can't be zero
if it were, then
y^2 - 7y = 0
y(y - 7) = 0
y = 0 or y-7 = 0
y = 0 or y = 7
So if y = 0 or y = 7, then the denominator is zero.
So we must exclude these values from the domain.
Answer:
Domain: The set of all real numbers but y can't be equal to 0 or y can't be equal to 7.
