Examine the set of x-coordinates. If they are all different, then the relation is a function. If any of them are the same, compare the y-coordinates of the particular ordered pairs where the x-coordinates are equal. If the y-coordinates in those ordered pairs are also equal, then you still have a function, but if you have any ordered pairs where the x-coordinates are equal but the y-coordinates are different, then you do NOT have a function.
