3%285-x%29=4%282x%2B1%29 Start with the given equation.

15-3x=8x%2B4 Distribute.

-3x=8x%2B4-15 Subtract 15 from both sides.

-3x-8x=4-15 Subtract 8x from both sides.

-11x=4-15 Combine like terms on the left side.

-11x=-11 Combine like terms on the right side.

x=%28-11%29%2F%28-11%29 Divide both sides by -11 to isolate x.

x=1 Reduce.

You can put this solution on YOUR website!
Distribute the 3 and the 4
...
3(5) + 3(-x) = 4(2x) + 4(1)
...
15 - 3x = 8x + 4
...
Combine like terms
15 - 4 = 8x + 3x
11 = 11x
