I can write this as
( 1/2 )*( 2/3 )*( 3/4 )*( 4/5 )* . . . ( n-2)/( n-1 )*( n-1 )/( n )
There are cancellations on the top and bottom
I can rewrite the whole thing as
(2/2)*(3/3)*4/4)* . . . (n-1)/(n-1) * (1/n)
This equals 1/n

You can test it for n = 5, for instance
( 1/2)*(2/3)*(3/4)*(4/5) =
(2/2)*(3/3)*(4/4)*(1/5) = 1/5
