Question 675139: Any help with this would be greatly appreciated. This is all new to me and am having problems trying to figure it out.

A one-meter long rifle fires a bullet at a velocity of 800 m/s. What is the average acceleration experienced by the bullet when it is fired? (Hint: You need to find the time it takes the bullet to travel the length of the barrel first. The bullet is initially at rest in the rifle.)

You can put this solution on YOUR website!
use the formula
v^2-u^2=2as
where v= final speed=800 m/s
u=initial speed= 0 m/s
s=1 m
so 800^2-0=2*a*1
or a=640000/2=320000 m/s2
