You can put this solution on YOUR website! The ratio of a quarterback's completed passes to attempted passes is 8 to 9. If he attempted 27 passes, find how many passes he completed. Round your answer to the nearest whole number, if necessary.
----
8 to 9 is the same as 8x to 9x where 8x is # of completed passes.
------
Equation:
8x + 9x = 27
17x = 27
x = 27/17
----------
8x = 8(27/17) = 12.7 = 13 people when rounded up.
