You can put this solution on YOUR website!
The candy shack sells their candy for $0.60 each.
To make their profit, they increased their price by 25%.
What was the wholesale price of each candy bar before the markup?
:
Let p = price before mark-up
:
price + mark-up = $.60
p + .25p = .60
1.25p = .60
p = .60/1.25
p = $.48 is the wholesale price
:
:
YOu can check this for yourself. .25(.48) = .12, and .12 + .48 = .60
