You can put this solution on YOUR website! A.
Not all data is measured in terms of numbers. Other forms of data
such as hair color, favorite music, or gender may sometimes be
gathered. When this type of data is represented by a variable, the
variable is called a qualitative variable.
Qualitative variable is a variable that expresses a qualitative attribute or
quality; values do not have a numerical meaning and cannot be ordered
 numerically; also called categorical variable.
 Example:
 a. The data for capital city, official flower, and official bird would not contain
any numerical meaning and cannot be ordered numerically. So, these categories
 contain qualitative data.
 b.
hair color (Black, Brown, Gray, Red, Yellow) is a qualitative variable, name
 c.names
like Adam, Becky, Christina, Dave and so on

 B.
Quantitative data differs in amount, or quantity. Quantitative data are those that can be measured with an ordinal or ratio scale.
An ordinal scale does not have a true zero, so multiplicative relationships can't be expressed with the quantitative variables obtained from it.
Here are some examples of quantitative variables:
 Variable ----------------------------------Measurement
 Height----------------------------- Inches, feet, centimeters,
 Temperature ----------------------Celsius, Fahrenheit, Kelvin, Réaumur...
 Age --------------------------------Years, months, decades, minutes
 Weight ---------------------------Pounds, tons, ounces, grams
Area ------------------------------Acres, square miles, square feet
Speed -----------------------------Miles per hour, light years, feet per second
