Question 67253: These functions are inverse functions
f(x) = 2x - 1
g(x) = (1/2)x + 1

You can put this solution on YOUR website!
Are these functions inverse functions ?
f(x) = 2x - 1
g(x) = (1/2)x + 1
---------
f[g(x)]=f[(1/2)x+1]=2[(1/2)x+1]=x+2
This shows f and g are not inverse to one another.
If the result had been "x" instead of "x+2" I would
have checked g[f(x)] to see if that result was also "x".
Hope this helps.
