Question 672171: twenty-five more than the sum of two consecutive intergers is 2.what are the two numbers? (thats exactly how it is on the paper. i got the answer right but my teacher said the work was wrong)
Answer by neatmath(302) About Me  (Show Source):
You can put this solution on YOUR website!

Your two consecutive integers are x and x%2B1

So we have:

25%2Bx%2B%28x%2B1%29=2

25%2B2x%2B1=2

26%2B2x=2

2x=-24

x=-12

So our two consecutive integers are -12 and -11

I hope this helps! :)
