You can put this solution on YOUR website!

Let x=hourly wage
On Wednesday our friend earned (5x+25)dollars
On Friday our friend earned (3x+30.76) dollars
Now we are told that our friend earned the same amount of money on Wednesday (5x+25) as on Friday (3x+30.76). So our equation to solve is:
5x+25=3x+30.36 (all in dollars) subtract 3x and 25 from both sides:
5x-3x+25-25=(30.36)-25 collect like terms:
2x=5.36
x=$2.68 per hour--------------our friend's hourly wage
ck
5(2.68)+25=3(2.68)+30.36
13.40+25=8.04+30.36
38.40=38.40
Hope this helps--------ptaylor
