1.Write the following equation in slope-intercept form: 5x+2=3y
2.Find the slope of the equation: 5x+6y=30
3.Find the slope bewtween the points: (2,-5) and (-3,-7)
4.Find the slope of the line y = -6x - 3 Answer by Earlsdon(6294) (Show Source):
You can put this solution on YOUR website! 1. Write in slope-intercept form: 5x+2 = 3y
The slope-intercept form of a linear equations is:
y = mx + b where m is the slope and b is the y-intercept. So, starting with your equation: Simply divide both sides by 3. or Here, m = 5/3 and b = 2/3
2. Find the slope of 5x+6y = 30 First get this into the slope-intercept form: y = mx+b Subtract 5x from both sides. Now divide both sides by 6. Compare this with: You can see that slope, m = -5/6
3. Find the slope between the points (2, -5) and (-3, -7)
You can use the formula for slope: where: (2, -5) = (x1, y1) and (-3, -7) = (x2, y2) Simplify. This is the slope!
4. Find the slope of the line: y = -6x-3 The equation is already in the slope-intercept form: y = mx+b so you can just read off the slope which is the m.
m = -6 This is the slope!
