Question 670524: if the perimeter of a rectangle is 72cm and the length is twice the width how do you show your work using multiple transformations or transforming formulas?
I can divide 72 by the 4 sides and I get 18 just using a few guesses I think the length = 24 and width= 12 since 2l +2w =P so 24+24+12+12=72
I just not sure how to show the work. Help if you can.

You can put this solution on YOUR website!
width =w
length = 2w
Perimeter = 2(L+W)
2(2w+w)=72
6w=72
/6
w=12
length = 2w
2*12=24
width = 12cm
Length = 24 cm
