IF you meant...

x%2F4-1%2F2=%28x%2B6%29%2F2   |Multiplying thru by 4 so as all denominators = 1

 x - 2 = 2(x+6)

    -14 = x

Note:  |Multiplying thru by 4, means mutiplying EACH term on BOTH sides of the EQ by 4
