Question 669540: Hi! I need help finding the x-intercept of this equation +%28x%5E3-6x%5E2%2B11x-6%29%2F%28x%5E4-1%29+ I found the y-intercept by setting x=0 but I can't figure out how to solve it when I set y=o. I thought I had figured it out when I factored the numerator as (x-1)(x-2)(x-3) and found that the intercepts should be (0,2) and (0,3) but the graph doesn't show any intercepts at all. So clearly I'm doing something wrong. I hope you can help! Thanks

You can put this solution on YOUR website!

Hi,
%28%28x-1%29%28x-2%29%28x-3%29%29%2F%28x%5E4-1%29 yes. Good work.
grapH does cross at x = 2 and x = 3 (a little down and back up going on)
Note: x = 1 is a vertical symptote (x= 1 makes the denominator ZERO)
