Hi,
The plumber worked for 3 times as long as the painter and the painter worked 5 times as long as the electrician's hourshighlight%28x%29 .
The total wage bill was £630. How much was each man paid?
Translate into an equation:
Electrician + Painter + Plumber
x + 5x + 15x = 21x
+%281%2F21%29630+%2B+%285%2F21%29630+%2B+%2815%2F21%29630 =£630

Electrician %281%2F21%29%2A630 = £30
Painter £150
Plumber £450
