You can put this solution on YOUR website!
2(y - 6) = 3y + 12 - y
*
Distribute the 2 into the y and -6 by multiplying it by each of them individually: 2y - 12 = 3y + 12 - y
*
Combine the 3y and -y: 2y - 12 = 2y + 12
*
Add 12 to both sides: 2y = 2y + 24
*
Subtract 2y from both sides: 0 = 24
*
This is false (0 does not equal 24!), so there is NO SOLUTION to this problem.

2%28y-6%29=3y%2B12-y
2y-12=2y%2B12
cross%282y%29-12=cross%282y%29%2B12
-12=12...not true; so, no solution exist
