You can put this solution on YOUR website!
given:
2 parallelograms
one of them has b=3cm and a=5cm
the other has b%5B1%5D=18cm and x to find
since sides going up and horizontal, we have 2 rectangles and
we know that not all rectangles are similar (if the proportions are different, they are not similar)
but in this case, we assume they are similar; so, their sides are proportional
then we have:
b%3Aa=b%5B1%5D%3Ax
b%2Fa=b%5B1%5D%2Fx
3cm%2F5cm=18cm%2Fx......cross multiply

3cm%2Ax=18cm%2A5cm
3cm%2Ax=90cm%5E2
x=90cm%5E2%2F3cm
x=30cm%5Ecross%282%29%2Fcross%28cm%29
x=30cm
