Divide 7x³ - 3x² - 4x + 5 by 7x - 1 using long division.

It's the same way as usual, only you have to do a
lot of fraction work with this one:


                 x² -  (2/7)x -  (30/49)
   7x - 1)7x³ - 3x² -      4x +        5
          7x³ -  x²
               -2x² -      4x
               -2x² +  (2/7)x
                     (-30/7)x +        5
                     (-30/7)x +  (30/49)
                                (215/49)   

                                 215/49 
Answer: x² - (2/7)x - (30/49) + --------
                                 7x - 1
