This is what i did-
40+15= 55/ 5 = 11 = 40/ 5 + 15/5 = 55/100= 5.5

Does 40+15/ 5= 40/ 5 +15/ 5?

It does if you mean (40 + 15)/5
Use the result from this exercise to determine whether the distributive property can be applied to division over an expression involving a sum.
This is what i did-
40+15= 55/ 5 = 11 = 40/ 5 + 15/5 = 55/100= 5.5 **** Where did you get the 100?
Change 100 to 5, then it's the same answer, 11.

Since division is multiplication by the reciprocal, and the distributive property is characterized by multiplication, it makes sense that division is distributive as well. Another way to think about this problem is:
