Question 665664: the question is solving the equation using the substitution method or the elimination method. i am not quite sure how to rearrange the equations to solve them. i am used to having the x and y variables on the same side so im not sure where exactly to start:
y=2x+9
y=7x+8

y=2x+9
add -2x to both sides
y-2x=2x-2x+9
y-2x=9
y=7x+8
similarly y-7x=8

y-2x=9
y-7x=8


now you can solve for x and y
