You can put this solution on YOUR website!
A runner can run 100 yards in 9.8 seconds and 440 yards in 49 seconds. What is the ratio of her average speed in the 440 to her average speed in the 100?
AVG.SPEED IN 100 Y RUN=100/9.8
AVG.SPEED IN 440 Y RUN = 440/49
RATIO OF AVG. SPEEDS = [(440/49)]/[(100/9.8)]=(440*9.8)/(100*49)=0.88
