We know length times height is the area of a parallelogram.
(x+8)x=48
Multiply and subtract 8 to get:
x^2+8x-48=0
Factor:
(x-4)(x+12)=0
solve for x:
x=4
x=-12
4 is the only logical answer so:
measurements are:
4 meters
12 meters
