( 1 room painted / Sally's time ) + ( 1 room painted / Steve's time ) =
( 1 room painted / time working together )
+1%2F6+%2B+1%2F3+=+1%2Ft+
Multiply both sides by +6t+
+t+%2B+2t+=+6+
+3t+=+6+
+t+=+2+
It will take them 2 hrs working together
