Question 66478: 7(3x+4) = 8(2x+5) + 13
Answer by ptaylor(2198) (Show Source):
You can put this solution on YOUR website! 7(3x+4) = 8(2x+5) + 13 expand:
7*3x+7*4=8*2x+8*5+13 multiplyiing the terms, we get
21x+28=16x+40+13 subtract 16x and 28 from both sides of the equation
21x-16x-28+28=16x-16x-28+40+13 collecting like terms
5x=25
x=5
ck
7(3*5+4)=8(2*5+5)+13
7(19)=8(15)+13
133=120+13
133=133
Hope this helps-----ptaylor
