Question 664152: If your current test grades are 75, 95, 95 and 88 with one test remaining. What grade would you need to make on the final test so that you can have a 90 average? Answer by ReadingBoosters(3246) (Show Source):
You can put this solution on YOUR website! Just in case you are yet in need of a solution...
Average is the (sum of the numbers)/(# of numbers)
(75 + 95 + 95 + 88 + x)/5 = 90
where x is the grade on the remaining test
...
(353 + x)/5 = 90
Multiply both sides by 5
353+x = 90(5)
353 + x = 450
x = 450-353
x = 97, which is the grade required on the final test
